To make sure everyone has fun in a safe environment at Geek On, we require all attendees and staff to follow Geek On’s Code of Conduct. The following policies will be enforced by security staff on and around Geek On’s premises.
Prohibited Acts:
All attendees must comply with federal, state, local, and UC Riverside’s laws and regulations at all times. Failure to comply to the following will result in being barred from Geek On’s premises/ turned over to the UCPD:
- No smoking or vaping. UC Riverside is a smoke-free campus.
- All attendees must be appropriately clothed and wear shoes. We are a family friendly convention.
- No loitering, public intoxication, indecent exposure, lewd or offensive behavior, begging, soliciting, or any acts of disorderly conduct.
- Zero Tolerance towards assault, threats, inappropriate behavior towards other attendees and staff, and offensive slurs of any kind.
- No sale of items or other business transactions without Geek On’s prior written consent.
- No alcohol or any illegal substances.
Wristbands/ Badges:
All wristbands/ badges must be worn and visible on your person at all times within Geek On’s premises.
Facilities:
Please respect the HUB and all other UCR facilities. We are a small, student-led convention and UCR is gracious enough to host us. The following actions may result in removal from the facility.
- Do not move or climb on the furniture.
- Do not climb/ sit on railings. Violating this rule will result in immediate removal.
- All aisles, exits, booths, and fire safety equipment must be accessible and kept clear at all times. Sitting in walkways is not allowed and will result in action from con security.
- Do not tape, nail, glue, staple, or put anything on the walls or any surface in the HUB.
- No outside food or drinks may be sold or distributed inside Geek On.
- No pets (aside from service animals) allowed unless approved of and issued a permit by con staff.
- Only people with disabilities or with prior approval are allowed to have transportation devices indoors.
- No rollerblades, bicycles or skateboards allowed indoors.
Courtesy:
- Do not touch, harass, glomp, or take pictures of your fellow attendees, regardless of whether or not they are in costume, without their permission.*
- Cosplay does not equal consent.
*By attending Geek On, you are consenting to being recorded by Geek On for promotional purposes. However, all Geek On press staff will wear a press badge on their person. If you do not want to be recorded please avoid press staff or let them know you do not want to be recorded beforehand.
